Siaya Adopts People's Assembly Motion Against 'Autocratic' 🤝Jubilee

The Siaya county assembly has adopted a motion to formulate the People's Assembly which Opposition leader Raila Odinga proposed.
Central Sakwa MCA Johannes Andiego tabled the motion on Wednesday and members unanimously advocated for the "secession of the region from oppressive regimes".

Andiego said President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election did not represent the views and aspirations of majority Kenyans. "Uhuru cannot be vested with sovereign powers of the public since he is not legitimately elected by all the people in the 47 counties," he noted. IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati announced that Uhuru got 98 per cent of all votes cast and placed the turnout at 38.84 per cent.

Opposition supporters in Kisumu, Homa Bay, MIgori and Siaya boycotted the election following instructions by the NASA candidate who withdrew. Andiego, who doubles as the chief whip, regretted that the Jubilee government has "perfected the act of subverting the constitution by using draconian laws...to forcefully rule the public".
