The High Court in Kajiado on Monday allowed petition challenging Governor Joseph Lenku's election to continue to its conclusion.

This was despite former county boss David Nkedianye's withdrawal from the case through a notice of intent filed before Justice John Onyego.
Two voters namely Benjamin Tipatet and Tarayia ole Kores moved to the same court seeking to be substituted as petitioners. Justice Onyego allowed Nkedianye's withdrawal and at the same time held that Tipatet and Kores continue the matter as per their application.
Tipatet and Kores had told the election petition court they have enough evidence to indict governor Lenku. They said the respondent in the case was not 'legitimately' elected to office. Justice Onyego said the case will be heard on Friday.
